​UNIK Supplies Hexagonal Paver Moulds for Erosion Control Project in the Philippines

Quanzhou, China – Fujian Unik Mould Technology Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of brick machines and concrete moulds with over a decade of experience, has supplied a set of custom hexagonal paver moulds to an erosion control project in the Philippines.

The project involves stabilizing slopes along a section of riverbank in Luzon. Local authorities specified hexagonal concrete pavers for the application, as the interlocking geometry of six-sided blocks provides better ground coverage and resistance to hydraulic pressure compared to square or rectangular alternatives.

UNIK manufactured the moulds from 42CrMo steel with carburizing heat treatment, achieving a surface hardness of HRC58-62 and a tough core at HRC35-40. The mould cavities were CNC-machined to Ra 1.6 finish with 3-5mm radius on all internal corners. Dimensional tolerances were held to ±0.1mm.

According to the customer, the moulds were installed on a locally available block machine and have completed an initial production run of 15,000 pavers with consistent dimensions and clean edge definition.
