(QUANZHOU, China) – Fujian Unik mould Technology Co., Ltd., a company specializing in high-quality brick machines and moulds, has announced the launch of its next-generation fully CNC-machined mould series for cement blocks. The standout feature is core pin alignment accuracy of ±0.05mm, addressing common industry problems such as uneven wall thickness and core pin misalignment found in traditional welded or cast moulds.
Founded in 2010 and located in Quanzhou, Fujian Province – the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road and a region known for its manufacturing strength – UNIK has always followed a "product-centric philosophy." According to the company's technical team, the new moulds are machined from solid blocks of pre-hardened tool steel using 5-axis CNC equipment. The cavity and core pin retainer holes are milled in the same setup, rather than using welded assemblies or sand casting. This process change delivers three direct improvements:
Consistent Wall Thickness: In multi-cavity moulds, every core pin is exactly the same distance from the cavity wall. This keeps thin wall thickness variation below 0.1mm for each hollow block, increasing compressive strength.
Smooth Demoulding: The surface finish from CNC machining (Ra ≤ 0.8μm) combined with a precisely calculated draft angle reduces demoulding resistance by an estimated 30%, lowering core pin wear and edge chipping.
Extended Mould Life: The one-piece construction eliminates weld heat-affected zones and casting porosity. With quenching and tempering, expected mould life is more than double that of traditional welded moulds.
"Our customers, particularly hollow block and paver producers in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, have long suffered from high reject rates due to poor mould accuracy," a UNIK market representative said. "This new CNC mould series is aimed at automatic production lines, helping them maintain stable block geometry at high cycle speeds."
The mould series can be adapted to various cement block types, including standard hollow blocks (390×190×190mm), lightweight aggregate insulating blocks, and multi-hole pavers. UNIK also offers custom draft angles and venting designs based on the customer's concrete mix (dry or wet).
UNIK has set up a dedicated CNC mould machining cell at its Quanzhou factory, with current capacity to produce over 50 high-precision mould sets per month. The company is now promoting the product line to markets in South America, Africa, and Central Asia through international construction material exhibitions and online platforms.
